Lorraine Buis, PhD, MSI is an Assistant Professor in the University of Michigan (UM) Department of Family Medicine, and also holds an appointment in the UM School of Information, where she teaches a course on the fundamentals of human behavior as it relates to interface design. Dr. Buis has expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of mobile interventions for chronic disease self- management, with specific emphasis on interventions to reduce chronic disease- related health disparities among low-income African American populations.
