Sara and George McCune Scholarship Awards
The intent of this award is to provide scholarship support for students/faculty from developing countries around the world in the education of, and training in, the latest advances in mixed methods research. Scholarship support is available for individuals to attend the live, online summer or fall workshop provided by the University of Michigan. These scholarships will cover workshop registration costs. This award is made possible through the generosity of the McCune Foundation.

- Designing and conducting a mixed methods dissertation or thesis (June 16-18, 2021)
- Designing a mixed methods research project (November 10-12, 2021)
Personal Statement of Interest
Please submit a 1/2 page single-spaced personal statement that describes pertinent personal experiences and goals that would make you an appropriate candidate for this award. Be sure to address:
- Why you want to participate in the program
- Your background in quantitative research
- Your background in qualitative research
- Your background in and additional needs for mixed methods research
- Your financial need for this scholarship
- How you would use your experience in an MMP workshop to enhance the development of mixed methods research in your home country
Research Project Statement
Please submit a 1/2 page single-spaced research project statement that includes:
- A draft title for your research project
- The problem being addressed in your project
- The types of quantitative and qualitative data that you will collect
- The purpose of your study (for example, a dissertation project, a university project, etc.)
Additional Information Needed
Please submit:
- a letter of recommendation from your supervisor outlining how you would benefit from attending the workshop
- a letter/certificate indicating proof of student or faculty status from your university or place of work
