U.S.-based Student Scholarship Awards
This award covers the registration fees for up to two doctoral students per workshop offered by the University of Michigan Mixed Methods Program throughout the year. Workshops are typically offered in the Spring, Summer and Fall, though this is subject to change each year.
Anyone who is enrolled in a doctoral program at a U.S.-based school is eligible to apply.
Apply by March 31st, 2021 attend either the Summer or Fall 2021 workshop

Please develop a 1 to 1.5 page statement that includes a) personal information b) the personal statement and c) the research project description, along with a letter of recommendation and a letter/certificate indicating your enrollment in a U.S.-based doctoral program.

Please submit a 1/2 page single-spaced personal statement that describes pertinent personal experiences and goals that would make you an appropriate candidate for this award. Be sure to address:
- Why you want to participate in the workshop
- Your background in quantitative research
- Your background in qualitative research
- Your background in and additional needs for mixed methods research
- Your financial need for the scholarship
- How you intend to promote mixed methods research in your own field and/or home institution upon completion of the workshop

Research Project Statement
Please submit a 1/2 page single-spaced research project statement that includes:
- A draft title for your research project
- The problem being addressed in your project
- The types of quantitative and qualitative data that you will collect
- The purpose of your study (for example, a dissertation project, a university project, etc.)
Additional Information Needed
Please submit:
- a letter of recommendation from your supervisor outlining how you would benefit from attending the workshop
- a letter/certificate indicating proof of student status from your university
