Prof Manfred Max Bergman is a full professor and Chair of Social Research and Methodology at the University of Basel, Research Councilor of the Swiss National Science Foundation, and member of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative for the United Nations. He is President of the Swiss Academic Society for Environmental Research and Ecology, Section Editor in Chief of Sustainability (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/sustainability) and Editor in Chief of World (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/world).
He has 25+ years of teaching, research, and consulting experience applying qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research designs in sociology, political science, sustainability science, public health, evaluation, and area studies; scientific publications on research methods, including mixed methods research and designs; evaluation, reviewing, and editorial experience in substantive, methods, and methodological projects; academic and career promotion of underrepresented groups; national and international experiences in strategy and research policy; collaboration experiences with industry and government actors; global project and teaching experience; various leadership and directorship experiences in academic and related areas.
