Mack Ruffin IV, MD, MPH

Mack Ruffin IV, MD, MPH, has over 25 years of extramurally funded research focused in disease prevention and control especially in cancer. His research spans from the population level to the molecular level including practice based interventions. He has used a variety of methods to address complex research questions. His expertise and training is primarily with quantitative methods. He has integrated into clinical trials mixed methods to bring the perspective of patients into the analysis. He has developed new decisions aids starting from the perspective of patients and integrated their feedback into the development and testing phase. He has used healthcare providers and their staff to guide the development of practice transformation and integration of new technologies into their practice. Dr. Ruffin has mentored a number of junior and senior investigators and consulted to a variety of research teams, primary care practices, and research and development units from around the world.
