Sara and George McCune Scholarship Awards
The intent of this award is to provide scholarship support for students/faculty from developing countries to receive education and training in the latest advances in mixed methods research. In 2024 scholarship support consists of workshop registration fees. This award is made possible through the generosity of the McCune Foundation.

Workshop(s) you would be interested in attending:
- Mixed Methods Analysis and Integration: An Intermediate Workshop (March 20-22, 2024, Online)*
- Designing and Conducting a Mixed Methods Dissertation or Thesis (June 5-7, 2024, Online)
-Designing and Conducting a Mixed Methods Research Project (Oct.30-Nov.1, in-person** at the University of Michigan).
*Note that you must have a fundamental understanding of Mixed Methods by the time of this workshop.
**Note that the scholarship does not cover travel, accommodation and other expenses of attending in-person.
Statement of Interest
Please submit a personal statement that describes your pertinent personal experiences and goals that would make you an appropriate candidate for this award (WORD LIMIT: 250). Be sure to address:
-Why you want to participate in the program
-Your background in quantitative research
-Your background in qualitative research
-Your background in and additional training needs for mixed methods research
-Your financial need for this scholarship
-How you would use your experience in an MMP workshop to enhance the development of mixed methods research at your home institution and home country
Research Project Statement
Please submit a research project statement (WORD LIMIT: 250). Be sure that the statement includes:
-A draft title for your research project
-The problem(s) your project addresses
-The conceptual framework or theory informing your project
-The types of quantitative and qualitative data that you will collect
-How you plan to analyze and integrate the different data
-The purpose of your study (for example, a dissertation project, a university project, etc.)
Additional Required Information
Please upload:
-a letter of recommendation from your supervisor outlining how you would benefit from attending the workshop
-a letter/certificate indicating proof of student or faculty status from your university or place of work
*BOTH the letter of recommendation and the letter/certificate must be written in English and uploaded as a PDF*
