Are you a student proposing, conducting or writing a mixed methods dissertation or thesis? Join the U-M Mixed Methods Program for our summer workshop focused on the mixed methods dissertation/thesis process.
The purpose of this workshop is for participants to learn about state-of-the-art mixed methods research design and to incorporate rigorous mixed methods components into their own dissertation/thesis project and writing.
Participants at all stages of the dissertation/thesis process are encouraged to attend!
The purpose of this workshop is for participants to learn about state-of-the-art mixed methods research design and to incorporate rigorous mixed methods components into their own dissertation/thesis project and writing.
Participants at all stages of the dissertation/thesis process are encouraged to attend!
This workshop will address:
- Choosing a mixed methods design
- Writing purpose statements and research questions
- Developing a conceptual framework
- Developing a procedural diagram illustrating your methods, design, procedures, and outcomes
- Developing a visual joint display for integrating your qualitative and quantitative data
- Selecting and working with your committee
- Structuring your mixed methods dissertation or thesis, including the introduction, methods, results, and discussion
- Turning your dissertation into publications
REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT: Conducting or advising a mixed methods project or actively designing/reworking a mixed methods project for your dissertation or thesis.
