This one-day workshop will provide participants with an introductory overview of qualitative research methods.

INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Melissa DeJonckheere, PhD; Department of Family Medicine, University of Michigan Dr. DeJonckheere is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Family Medicine. She is a health services researcher and mixed methodologist specializing in qualitative and participatory research design. Her research focuses on understanding the psychological and social contexts of chronic disease management in adolescence. She previously was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Michigan Mixed Methods Program. Dr. DeJonckheere completed her PhD in Educational Studies at the University of Cincinnati, where she worked on qualitative and mixed methods projects in both the education and health fields. |
Jane Forman, ScD, MHS; VA Ann Arbor Center for Clinical Management Research
Dr. Forman is the Senior Methodologist of the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Core at the VA Ann Arbor HSR&D Center for Clinical Management Research (VA-CCMR), and Core Faculty in the IHPI Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Michigan Medical School. She collaborates with, and mentors, investigators conducting studies that include qualitative and mixed methods. Her research interests include understanding health care delivery systems and translating health services research into practice. Dr. Forman is part of the Executive Committee for the Michigan Mixed Methods Program, and a Co-Lead of the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Learning Laboratory (QMMLL), a University of Michigan/VA-CCMR seminar series that provides expert and peer support through works-in-progress and methods topics sessions. |
